Someone has to make compromise. If both you and your opponent stand by your position, then none of you will be a winner. Your lawyers will be. 

How about we communicate what serves both of you best. Let's talk win/win, not win/lose.

Sometimes it is worth getting a slap in your face, earlier

So you can't really see things objectively. And you want your lawyer to be subjective and your mouthpiece? Maybe you need a third person to look at the facts. 

Not recommended but sometimes inevitable

To knock some sense into someone's head, maybe the case needs to be adjudicated. Most likely your opponent will be the blind one if it comes to this stage. Cause we would have talked some sense into you before we decided to take on you and the case.
